As President/Artistic Director of Skycorner Productions Inc. and recent Director of Media and Publicity for the Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Rick Tae is also credited with a BFA degree in theatre, a Gemini Award nomination, two Leo Award nominations, a Leo win in 2006, 17 years of professional acting experience in Film/TV/Theatre, a writer/co-creator title for Me & Brie, a ½ Hour Comedy official selection of the NSI Totally Television Program, and 5 years of coaching actors who have gone on to work with the industry's best.
2007, however, starts a new venture for Rick. Aware of the difficulties for all actors to juggle Business and Art simultaneously, he has decided to share his knowledge in simple and direct private business consultations, designed to aid the emerging actor, hungry for a break in the industry.
Initial 2 Hour sessions will cover on-camera analysis of the actor's work, headshot/resume updates, product placement, research and development, the Film/TV industry as a whole, networking and a general overview of expanding the artist's skills and techniques.
Basics of breaking down audition scripts and sides, the dos and don'ts of working on set, acting styles for each medium, casting director likes and dislikes, questions involving the lifestyle of being an actor and more continue on in further consultations.
With Rick's easy-going and deliberate style of coaching, actors with little or no experience, as well as currently working professionals, will both discover reasons to celebrate their inner child, developing means to aim high and ultimately play for a living. |
